Pandora’s Box / The house of faith

This sculpture/process uses Pandora’s box of the Greek mythology as a reference. The word Hope is written on a blank piece of paper, the paper is then squeezed with the hand, and it is placed at the centre of an acrylic box. The transparent box is covered with a metal box and it is placed on a concrete pedestal. The sculpture is placed out, in the open, and receives the impact of the natural elements, gradually rusting the piece.
House of faith works under the same process, but instead of the metal box, there is a metal house. The analogy is made in relation to the chemical element iron: Fe (fe: faith in Spanish). As with Pandora’s box, elements affect the piece gradually.
